Baby | 5 Month Photo Shoot

He’s 5 months old already! Let me stop and let that sink in – 5 months! That is almost half a year, which is almost a year which means it’s almost his first birthday?! Okay, I guess not quite but it sure feels like it.  Seriously, you hear ‘they grow up so fast’ and boy is it true! I want him to stay this cute, little, squishy guy forever. Since he just had his 5th month birthday it was time for his photo shoot. 6MonthPhotoshoot_1 6MonthPhotoshoot_26MonthPhotoshoot_5 6MonthPhotoshoot_3 6MonthPhotoshoot_4

I am cherishing these moments when I get to dress him up in anything I want and he is still happy as can be – even if that means naked and a cap like Grandpa!

Broderick | 4 Month

4monthphotoshoot5

As I told you yesterday, this little guy has stolen our hearts (especially in the picture above which might be my all time favorite so far). He is more fun than I ever could have imagined. Every month, I do a mini photo shoot with him and this time Daddy was able to participate! For his four-month photo shoot, I wanted to capture his rolly-polly legs before that cute chub is gone and his playful personality that is beginning to develop. He talks to us all day long and somehow we communicate even though neither of us are speaking anything other than baby gibberish of oooohs, coos, and ahhhhs.

Broderick, I hope you know just how loved you are because Mommy and Daddy just can’t get enough of you! I am fully aware that I have turned into “one of those Moms” that shares way to many pictures of her kids but I can’t help it. I prooooomise to post about something other than this little guy next time!!!!

Christmas {a little late}

While most of you have already seen these pictures from our Christmas card this year, I thought I would share these pictures anyway because I just love them so much! This little man melts my heart every day. We laugh because even when he is sleeping, we sit and scroll through pictures of him on the computer….to say we are obsessed would be an understatement!  babychristmascard1

Sleepy & White

I have tried my very best to enjoy each moment with little B because I know these are moments we can never get back. This first six weeks have already flown by and I can’t believe he will be 2 months old in just a few weeks.

Since little B’s announcements went out, I thought it was time to share these pictures which I took when he was seven days old (belly button shot was 14 days :)).  I look at them and marvel at how little he was. This little guy loves to put his right hand next to his face which is funny because we have a sonogram picture of him doing this exact thing.

This is was my favorite picture from the session and melts my heart. This represents little B just how he is, no hats, no crowns, just his little face sleeping away with his hands.

We love you little guy!

Beckett | Newborn

We met in 7th grade. While we weren’t immediate friends because basic junior high coolness factors got in the way, we eventually had our moment to connect.  You see, she was the popular cheerleader who came to school dressed like Cher from Clueless, feather pens and all, and I was the weird, tall gymnast with too short of pants because they didn’t always used to make 32″ inseams let alone 36″ inseams. Somehow through our mutual love for cheerleading and my mad gymnastics skills, which got me on the Pop Warner team, we were given a chance to become friends.

We then spent the next 4 years of high school almost inseparable. She would be the one to pick me up for 5:30am cheer practice, host a party to celebrate the 90210 series finale, or work in cahoots with my parents to hold a surprise 16th birthday party.  She taught me how to write a proper love letter as well as the magic of hot rollers.

Now, over 10 years later, I still get to call her my best friend and see her in a new light…..as a mother. Seriously, even though this is #2, I am still shocked to write that! The girl that I brought home a little too late after a little too much fun is now a mother of two adorable boys, Riley & Beckett.

This picture is one of my all time favorites as it captures the sweetness and beauty of motherhood. I spent my birthday hanging out and taking these pictures of these two and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Congratulations to your beautiful family Melissa and Dustin and may our kids learn the beauty of a best friend!

3rd Annual Thanksgiving Photoshoot

For the past two years, my sister and I have orchestrated a Thanksgiving day photoshoot so we were excited to proceed with our 3rd Annual photoshoot. While the first year we put on as much make-up as possible and rushed out of the house wearing whatever clothes we had packed and last year we upped the photography and used a white background with a few flashes, this year was by far the best yet and completely out of control!

See, what I forgot to realize was that my father participated in many mountain man rendezvous shoots for his gun club back in the day and had an entire trunk full of mountain man attire! Um, yeah. You want to know how legit he was – he even hooked us up with a quiver! A quiver, you ask? Don’t worry that is the same thing we wondered when my Dad came in asking us if we had seen his quiver!

Quiver: A portable case for holding arrows.

Kelsey, seriously killing it in this light! She may be little, but that girl can model with the best of them!

A special thanks has to be given to my Dad for photographing these and being just as crazy as us and to Ryan for still loving me despite my sometimes crazy behavior!

xoxo

Friday | Picture of the Week | Week 45

I present to you the 3rd Annual Thanksgiving photoshoot! More pictures to come – but yes, this really happened and am dying laughing as I am posting this because we had one heck of a time and once again, could not control the laughter! I hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving weekend and now I’m off to start decking these halls with some much needed Christmas decor!

SQUEEZABLE, LOVEABLE, HUGGABLE, UNBELIEVABLE

If this 19-month year old doesn’t melt your heart you may need to consider a visit along with the Tin Woodman to the land of Oz for new one (pretty sure they have one of those there) because he sure melts mine!

Blowing kisses to the camera right before he takes off running down the street dancing with his doggie, Minnie.

This was just a quick mini session I did with Riley while home visiting. Thankfully the rain held off enough for us to go outside for a bit and grab a few shots of this little bugger!

To view the complete session visit here.

XOXO

Queen Isabel | 6 Months

I cannot believe it has already been 3 months since my last photo session with Isabel, but last weekend I was lucky enough to spend my morning with this precious star.

a beautiful San Diego…

What would cause us to wake up at 7am on a Sunday? How about a day trip to San Diego to visit my very best friend, Melissa and her family. Ry and I started the rainy morning out listening to the Zac Brown Band and began our escape to a sunny, warmer place than the cloudy, fogged in 405 freeway. Enjoying San Diego from the water is a true treat and allows you access to many unexposed locations that offer fantastic views which we enjoyed distraction-free.

My Friday picture of the week goes to this adorable, little guy named Cayden. Last Sunday, I woke up to a gorgeous spring day and had the pleasure of spending my morning with this beautiful family. After seeing Queen Isabel’s photography session, Lisa and Brandon asked me to photography their adorable son, Cayden. Cayden is 5 months old and so cuddly and full of smiles.

2nd Annual Thanksgiving Photoshoot | Finals

As previously mentioned, on Thanksgiving we had our 2nd Annual Thanksgiving vacation photoshoot! The pictures are a bit overdue, but my Dad took some pictures as well and I grabbed them off his computer over the break. I wanted to make sure those were incorporate into this post so I apologize for the delay!

I wish you knew how much we were laughing while taking these – seriously laughing 99% of the time! This is why we are not paid models because we would be on the floor rolling the whole time! So, yes, please laugh along with us as I show these!!!!

Even Kevin George got in on the action.

And lastly, photo credits go to both Kevin George and myself (as previously mentioned, we both took pictures and it would be to complicated to say who took each one)!

Photoshoot | Kristen | Lake Tahoe

There is nothing better than spending time with family during the holidays and this year was  extra special because the whole family was able to make it home to celebrate Christmas, even my sister who is stationed at the Royal Air Force base in England. Because I only get to see my sister a few times a year, we decided to take advantage and I spent some time taking pictures while in Tahoe on Christmas morning.

I absolutely love this picture of Krissy throwing snow with the beautiful Tahoe trees in the background. Also, this one of her catching some air — all she needs is a board attached to those feet!

2nd Annual Thanksgiving Photoshoot | Sneak Peek

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving weekend and enjoyed a little to much home cooked food to be comfortable! Here is a quick peek from our 2nd Annual Thanksgiving vacation photoshoot. Stay tuned for more…and yes, that little house fan in the corner magically became a wind machine!

first year ~ part II

As posted previously, last time I went home to visit, we took some pictures of Riley for use on his birthday invitations. Now that his invites have gone out, I can reveal the rest of the shoot. And just in case you really want to see more of this photoshoot, click here for slideshow.

For the invitations, we decided to do a postcard style photocard using Photoshop. With Melissa’s poetic skills and the book editor skills of my mom, they came up with the poem and I did the design.

Sorry, but the crying pictures are just too cute to not include – crying with a party hat on! Man, I can’t wait until this little guy is in college and this gets sent around to the frat brothers!!!!

first year.

I can’t believe how quickly one year goes by. One year ago, Ryan and I had just returned from our wonderful honeymoon, we were celebrating Melissa’s baby shower, and Joanna was still pregnant and about to bring little Brady into this world.

Fast forward to today and little Brady turns one on Sunday, and Riley is almost about to celebrate his first birthday in November. Being that Riley’s mom is my very best friend, Melissa, we get the chance to shoot Riley as much as possible.

It is just amazing how quickly they grow in the first year and since I am in LA, I hate that I don’t get to see this little guy more. At two-weeks old he was just a little, squeezable ball of love, and at 5-months old he was a calm, happy baby just learning to sit and smile. Now at 10-months old this guy crawls, eats, laughs, cries, and sure knows how to go through those diapers!

Here is the first set of pictures of this little guy.

never too old to play dress up.

In order to get a few new pictures for my Dad’s photography website (www.kevingeorgephotography.com), I decided it would be fun to organize a mini-photoshoot! I recruited a few picture loving girls, picked up some of my favorite spring flowers, created a few amazing accessories (check out the flower headbands!), and told my Dad to snap away at all the beauty!

Here was the inspiration board created to give everyone involved the overall vision of the shoot: * sorry, I did not keep track of where all these images are from, but I know some are Jose Villa, Duet Weddings, Style Me Pretty

The day was filled with sunshine and lots of girlieness which always means lots of laughter! I think all the pink, flowers, and hairspray scared any potential snakes away because, thankfully, they all decided to stay home that day!

Although this shoot was set-up for my Dad, I just just couldn’t pass up the chance to take a few pictures myself! These girls were definitely channeling their inner top model and really poured on the fierceness!

See why I was so excited to share! These girls looked totally stunning and everything turned out beautiful! A big thank you to Corynne, Melissa, Kelsey, and Mom!

Riley 5-months.

I was so lucky to spend last Friday with one of my favorite people and her cute as a cupcake, 5-month old son, Riley. If you recall, back in November, Ryan and I did a little Riley-Man Photoshoot when he was 2-weeks old. Boy has this little guy grown a lot since then! Melissa and I spent the day hanging out like old times, going to Chevy’s in Folsom (which is now Q’bode), window shopping the home stores, and enjoying a nice glass of wine in the park (although this time, we are actually old enough to buy and drink it).

While we were in the park, I took advantage of the fabulous weather and lighting to take a few pictures of Riley.

I have too many favorites, but this one might just be it – that pacifier just cracks me up!

Seriously, is there anything cuter than this little guy!  Thanks for the fun day guys, miss you already!

Project: Birth Announcement

One of my favorite hobbies is working with Photoshop and paper! So when Melissa talked to me about creating a baby announcement for her little Riley-Man, I was so excited to start! Although, I don’t work in Photoshop or printing for a living, so I was slightly nervous to create something for someone else!

We scanned through some of the favorites from the Riley-Man photoshoot shot by Ryan and settled on using my favorite picture (#23 out of 365).   After, final approval from Melissa, we sent them off to the printer and kept our fingers crossed!

The announcements turned out so beautiful and Riley looks so precious! Boy, I couldn’t be happier with them — wheww, what a relief!
