White | Baptism Cake

WhiteBaptismCake2

Over the holidays, we scheduled to have Broderick baptized but life had other plans and for various reasons we had to re-schedule it. I couldn’t let this pretty cake from Waldi at Cake and Candy Specialties in Sacramento go without photographing a few pictures of it first! After all, having an extra cake around the house is never a bad problem to have!

Wedding | Kristen & Jake | Newcastle Wedding Gardens

It is no secret that I love weddings. Something about weddings just make my heart pitter patter – veils, shoes, ruffles, crafts just bring out everything girlie in life and I am all for that!  Here is a wedding I photographed with Kevin George Photography. Enjoy the pics!

Hyatt Sacramento Wedding | Nicole + Zach

Yeeeeeeah – I have been looking forward to posting these pictures since I took them!!! A few weeks ago, I got the chance to be the second shooter for my dad, the man behind Kevin George Photography!!!!

Nicole and Zach had a beautiful ceremony and reception held at the Hyatt Hotel in downtown Sacramento. They were a fantastic couple to shoot and I was blessed to spend the day with them. So lets get to the pictures!!!!!

This picture was taken of Nicole in front of the only window in the room. This little amount of light in the room was a treasure and helped to get these beautiful images of Nicole glowing.

This is Dean, Nicole and Zach’s son. Dean was such a trooper and wore his little tux like a gentleman.

Again, here is more of that beautiful light we were able to capture Nicole in. All of the flowers were crafted by Mom’s Wholesale Florist in beautiful oranges, reds, and fresh greens.

Nicole and Zach got ready in the hotel room together, so that sure made things easy because no first look was required! After everyone was finished getting ready, we headed over to the Capitol to continue the pictures. This is one of my favorites of the day – Nicole looking amazing and Zach gazing at his bride. STUNNING!!!

Nicole had fantastic bridesmaids — I think I snapped this one after Nicole had everyone rolling with her contagious laugh!  She even had me laughing for no reason!

This guy knew how to have a good time, this was just his warm up to the dance floor!

I love to get a glimpse of the parents during the ceremony and I just love this picture I captured of Zach’s Dad during the exchange of vows.

I love this little boy at the bar – I promise, he was buying Roy Rogers for him and his brother.

This was taken from the balcony of the Hyatt downtown which has a fantastic view of Sacramento and the Capitol.

And lastly, here is a beautiful picture to end the perfect night, the bride and groom enjoying a dance with the Capitol brightly lit in the background. Congratulations Nicole and Zach and thanks to my Dad for letting me join him in the fun!!

beauty in the sky.

A few weekends ago, I got the chance to fly up north and shoot a few weddings with my Dad.  While the wedding pictures are not ready to be shown quite yet, I will share a picture that I took during one of our down times. I was able to capture this photo of the Sacramento Cathedral from the balcony of the Hyatt in downtown Sacramento. The Cathedral is a beautiful church and had we had a 1,000 person wedding, I definitely would have gotten married there!

For some reason, old churches always make me stop in awe. Every  wall, window, curve, angle or stone was picked and built with such care and dedication. Nothing was done the cheap and easy way as they are done now. A pre-war church just never gets old and mix it with an elegant sunset and you have magic!

published!

Yesterday, we  got the great news – our wedding was published in “Our Wedding” magazine!

Ryan and I were contacted about this several months ago and we were so happy about the possibility of being in a magazine, but I wasn’t sure if we were “good enough” to make the final cut! So, after several scheduling conflicts, we finalized a time to be interviewed by Marie Rood. Back in February, over Saturday morning coffee, we had our telephonic interview with Ms. Rood.  We chatted with her for over an hour, which was actually a lot of fun to relive the day again and hear Ryan’s take on things! Due to the long interview, and my tenancy to tell all,  I was pretty nervous about what she would actually write up!  Ms. Rood and the magazine did an amazing job and we have our photographer, Lyndsay Undseth, to thank for making this happen!

never too old to play dress up.

In order to get a few new pictures for my Dad’s photography website (www.kevingeorgephotography.com), I decided it would be fun to organize a mini-photoshoot! I recruited a few picture loving girls, picked up some of my favorite spring flowers, created a few amazing accessories (check out the flower headbands!), and told my Dad to snap away at all the beauty!

Here was the inspiration board created to give everyone involved the overall vision of the shoot: * sorry, I did not keep track of where all these images are from, but I know some are Jose Villa, Duet Weddings, Style Me Pretty

The day was filled with sunshine and lots of girlieness which always means lots of laughter! I think all the pink, flowers, and hairspray scared any potential snakes away because, thankfully, they all decided to stay home that day!

Although this shoot was set-up for my Dad, I just just couldn’t pass up the chance to take a few pictures myself! These girls were definitely channeling their inner top model and really poured on the fierceness!

See why I was so excited to share! These girls looked totally stunning and everything turned out beautiful! A big thank you to Corynne, Melissa, Kelsey, and Mom!
